Have you ever wanted to go sailing on Melbourne’s beautiful Port Phillip but didn’t know how to make it happen?   Well now you can make it happen!   You can cruise for 2, 3 or 4 hours or even a whole day.  Our professional skippers and crew will make sure your every need is taken care of.   You will have booked the whole boat so you can bring your friends and sail a course on the amazing Port Phillip Bay.

Yacht Training Alternative Sailing Melbourne operates out of Martha Cove Marina located near to Mount Martha, We have easy transport to the boat were ever you are in Melbourne.

Our Boat

Alternative Sailing Charters operates, a Beneteau Oceanis 43. The Beneteau Oceanis 43 is an ocean rated yacht and one of the most popular production boats ever produced with 100,175 hulls built.  Nessesity has comfortable sleeping accommodation for 6, full galley with oven, cooktop, microwave and digital television 2 hot an cold showers, swimming platform. Also making it with 2 separate ensuites.

Destinations

Royal Brighton Yacht Club experience

A popular charter.   Departing Docklands at 10.00 am, you will cruise under sail to Royal Brighton Yacht Club arriving at around 12.15 pm.  You will then have a leisurely lunch at Melbourne’s famous Royal Brighton Yacht Club (lunch costs not included in the cruising fee) before re boarding the boat in Brighton Harbour at around 2.00 pm for the return cruise to Docklands arriving at around 4.30 pm.

Learn to sail -Yacht Training Victoria

Have you ever wondered about learning how to sail but never had the opportunity?  Alternative Sailing Charters Melbourne will be delighted to introduce you to the joy of this exhilarating charter. You might even become so inspired by your skipper & crew experience, you will want to take up sailing competitively or even go ocean racing! We can talk with you and guide you through the next steps to taking-up competitive sailing to a whole new level.

Our “Introduction to Sailing” course starts at Docklands at 9.30 am with an introduction to the theory of sailing, nautical terminology, the operating parts of a cruising yacht, radio operation and safety systems followed by the all important practical component where you get to put the theory into practice – sailing on Port Phillip with you in command! The boat returns to Docklands by 1.00 pm.  Maximum 10 and minimum 3 participants.

Who is a skipper?

A skipper is a fully qualified and professional captain who will be responsible for sailing the yacht from one hidden gem to another. They will have hundreds of hours experience in sailing many different types and sizes of yachts. They are often local to your chosen destination, therefore come with a wealth of knowledge to make your sailing adventure the best it can be.

Whether you are new to sailing holidays or are simply looking for a helping hand on board, we have made it easy for you to plan your perfect sailing holiday through our two skippered charter options.
